Hi! I’m the founder of The Spanish Learning Club and I’m originally from Colombia, where I was born and raised speaking Spanish as my mother tongue.

My passion for languages began at an early age when I started learning English at school. Later, at 18, I travelled to Israel and fell in love with Hebrew. That experience showed me how languages can do so much more than help us communicate—they allow us to connect with people, understand different cultures, and open doors to new opportunities around the world.

After returning to Colombia, I married an Englishman and, in 2006, we made the UK our home. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to teaching Spanish and sharing the rich cultures, traditions, and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.

As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges and rewards that come with learning something new. This perspective helps me support students with patience, encouragement, and practical strategies that build confidence along the way.

One of the greatest joys of teaching is seeing students progress from knowing only a few words to having real conversations in Spanish. Watching that growth and confidence develop is incredibly rewarding.

At The Spanish Learning Club, my aim is to create a welcoming and supportive community where learning Spanish is enjoyable, effective, and culturally enriching. I’m proud of the club we’ve built and look forward to helping more learners discover the opportunities that Spanish can bring.

Hi! I’m a Spanish teacher at The Spanish Learning Club, originally from Bogotá, Colombia.

From a very young age, I was fascinated by languages and the way they connect people and cultures. I studied English and French at school and later took part in an academic exchange programme in France, an experience that strengthened my language skills and broadened my understanding of the world.

After returning to Colombia, I studied Communication and Journalism and began teaching Spanish. What started as an informal role soon grew into a rewarding career, leading to opportunities to work with diplomatic missions, NGOs, and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.

Over the years, I have specialised in teaching Spanish for Specific Purposes, including Spanish for diplomacy, healthcare, and the humanitarian sector. I also completed a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and continue to expand my knowledge through ongoing professional development. I believe that learning never stops, whether you are a teacher or a student.

Today, I live in the beautiful Colombian Andes, surrounded by nature and the simple things I enjoy most. I’m passionate about animals, lifelong learning, and the meaningful connections that language can create.

Teaching Spanish online has allowed me to work with learners from many different backgrounds, and joining The Spanish Learning Club has been a wonderful part of that journey. I’m proud to help students build confidence, develop their communication skills, and discover the richness of the Spanish-speaking world in a supportive and engaging environment.

I am a charismatic, curious, and creative teacher who believes that learning a language should be both meaningful and enjoyable. Since 2021, I have been helping students develop their communication skills through engaging lessons that encourage participation, curiosity, and real-life language use.

I love helping students move beyond simply learning the language and begin using Spanish confidently in meaningful and authentic ways. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated, supported, and comfortable expressing themselves.

Hello, my name is Andrea, and I have been teaching Spanish since 2015.

Becoming a Spanish teacher felt like a natural path for me, as my mother is also a Spanish teacher. Growing up, Spanish was never just a subject in our home—it was a shared passion. We loved reading, discussing language, and discovering together the richness of Spanish and the cultures it represents.

Over the years, this passion for teaching has led me to many rewarding experiences. I have taught Spanish both in schools and online, working with students of different ages, levels, and backgrounds. Every learner brings something unique to the classroom, and I truly enjoy being part of their language-learning journey.

In 2018, I travelled to the United Kingdom for the first time and fell in love with its culture and people. That experience inspired me to continue growing as a teacher in an international environment and deepened my appreciation for the challenges and rewards of learning a new language.

I am passionate not only about teaching Spanish, but also about sharing the richness of Hispanic culture—its traditions, music, history, and the many ways it brings people together. I believe learning Spanish is about much more than vocabulary and grammar; it is about opening doors to new experiences, meaningful connections, and a broader understanding of the world.

In my classes, I aim to create a warm, supportive, and engaging environment where students feel comfortable building their confidence and communication skills.
