Hi! I’m the founder of The Spanish Learning Club, and I’m originally from Colombia, where I was born and raised speaking Spanish as my mother tongue. I started learning English at school from the age of five, which sparked my curiosity for languages early on.

When I was 18, I travelled to Israel and fell in love with Hebrew. That experience opened my eyes to the incredible power of languages—not just for communication, but for truly understanding cultures, forming friendships while traveling, and opening doors to study and work around the world.

After returning to Colombia, I married an Englishman, and a few years later, in 2006, we decided to settle in the UK. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to teaching Spanish and sharing the rich and diverse cultures of Latin America and Spain with students from all walks of life.

I’m passionate about learning and personal growth. I’m always working to improve my teaching skills, and by continuing to learn new languages myself, I gain valuable insight into what my students experience in their own learning journeys.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing students who begin with little or no Spanish gradually gain the confidence to hold meaningful conversations with native speakers. Watching that transformation is a constant reminder of why I do what I do.

At The Spanish Learning Club, my goal is to create a space where language learning is enjoyable, effective, and deeply connected to culture—and I’m so proud of the community we’ve built.

Hi! I’m a Spanish teacher here at The Spanish Learning Club, originally from Bogotá, Colombia.

From a very young age, I was drawn to languages and fascinated by the ways different cultures connect through communication. I studied English and French at school, and later had the chance to participate in an academic exchange in France—an experience that deepened my language skills and broadened my worldview through travel.

Back in Colombia, I began studying Communication and Journalism, and around the same time—back in 2001—I started teaching Spanish informally. That experience, combined with my work in voice-over, opened the doors to exciting opportunities with diplomatic missions and NGOs based in Colombia.

Over time, I developed a specialization in Spanish for Specific Purposes, including Spanish for diplomacy, healthcare, and the humanitarian sector. I eventually pursued a Master’s in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and continue to update my skills every year through professional development courses. I truly believe in lifelong learning, both as a teacher and as a person.

Today, I live in a rural area in the beautiful Colombian Andes, close to the capital but surrounded by nature—a lifestyle I deeply enjoy. I’m passionate about animals, the simple things in life, and the meaningful connections I get to make through teaching.

Thanks to technology, I now teach Spanish online—an amazing opportunity that led me to become part of The Spanish Learning Club. Here, I’m proud to share my experience and passion with learners from around the world in a dynamic, supportive, and culturally rich environment.

I am a charismatic, curious, and creative teacher who believes that learning a language should be both meaningful and enjoyable. Since 2021, I have been dedicated to challenging and empowering my students to develop confident, fluent communication. My goal is to help you not only understand Spanish but truly enjoy the process, connect with the culture, and feel comfortable and secure expressing yourself.

Hello, my name is Andrea, and I have been teaching Spanish since 2015. Becoming a Spanish teacher felt like a natural path for me, as my mother is also a Spanish teacher. Growing up, Spanish was never just a subject at home — it was a shared passion. We loved reading, speaking, explaining, and discovering together the richness of our language and culture.
Over the years, this love for teaching has led me to many meaningful experiences. I have taught Spanish both in schools and online, working with students of different ages, levels, and backgrounds. Each student brings something unique to the classroom, and I truly value being part of their learning journey.
In 2018, I travelled to the United Kingdom for the first time and fell in love with its culture and its people. That experience inspired me to continue growing as a teacher in an international environment and to support students who are discovering Spanish from a different cultural perspective.
I am passionate not only about teaching the language, but also about sharing Hispanic culture — its traditions, music, history, and the beautiful ways it expresses life and connection. I believe learning Spanish is about more than vocabulary and grammar; it is about opening doors to new experiences, new friendships, and new ways of seeing the world.
In my classes, I aim to create a warm, dynamic, and supportive atmosphere where students feel comfortable, motivated, and confident.
